iPhone 7 Vs iPhone 6s

iPhone 7 Vs iPhone 6 - What’s changed..?

iPhone 7.. the successor of Apple iPhone 6s, all set to outsell its big brother like all iPhone sequels do. But, is it worth to spend extra price on the annually upgraded model? This is a brief analysis of the features and functions of iPhone 7 compared to iPhone 6s.

Design
Everybody know this pretty strange design change in iPhone 7 - removal of headphones jack. The new iPhone will use a wireless 3.5mm to Lightning adapter.
It sounds cool, but it has some defects. If you want to use your regular headphones with the iPhone, then you will have to carry the adaptor with you, and if it is lost then you will have to buy a new one. Also it will not possible to use to headphones and charge the phone together.
Another change is the home button is now a fixed touch sensitive surface with haptic feedback.
The size and weight of the phone is almost identical to that of iPhone 6s.
  • iPhone 7 – 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.28 in) and 138 g (4.87 oz)
  • iPhone 6S – 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.28 in) and 143 g (5.04 oz)
Also, Apple has expanded the variety of colours in which iPhone is available. These includes Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black and Jet Black.
Strength & Memory
The new iPhone 7 offers IP67 dust-resistance and water-resistance which allows the phone to survive even if completely submerged in water for 30 minutes; although the company does not give warranty for any liquid-damage.
iPhone 7 also has stereo speakers which gives about double sound strength than 6s.
iPhone 7 has doubles the internal memory from 16/32/128 GB in iPhone 6s to 64/128/256 GB in iPhone 7, which adds the value for money.

Display
Only display change is that Apple has boosted peak brightness on the iPhone 7 by 25%. Other major display features are the same.
  • iPhone 7 – 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD, 1334 x 750 pixels (326 ppi), 65.6% screen-to-body ratio
  • iPhone 6s – 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD, 1334 x 750 pixels (326 ppi), 65.6% screen-to-body ratio
Performance
Although iPhone 6s delivers an extremely fast performance, the fastest has become faster. The A9 chipset and dual-core CPU has been upgraded to A10 chipset and quad-core CPU respectively. Its RAM (2GB) is the same.

Camera
iPhone 7 offers one of the best camera ever, with 15MP rear camera and 7MP front camera. In addition to this Apple has fitted the iPhone 7 with an all new 6-element lens, upgraded image signal processor.
The iPhone 7 (left) uses a new 6-element lens with greater picture quality than the 5-element lens in the iPhone 6S (right).
  • iPhone 7 – Rear: 12 megapixel sensor, f/1.8 aperture, Focus Pixels, Optical Image Stabilisation, quad-LED (dual tone) flash, 4K video recording. Front: 7MP sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p recording
  • iPhone 6S – Rear: 12 megapixel sensor, f2.2 aperture, Focus Pixels, Software Image Stabilisation, dual-LED flash, 4K video recording. Front: 5MP Front Camera, f2.2 aperture, 720p video recording
Battery
Apple has still not added any fast-charging or wireless charging technology. Also, iPhone 7 has no noticeable improvement in its battery life.
Price
iPhone 6s : $549-649 (INR 42,299-65,849)
iPhone 7 : $649-849 (INR price to be revealed on October 7 2017)
At the end..
Although iPhone 7 can’t be called a game-changer; but still iPhone 7 shows many slight improvements over iPhone 6s which include upgraded camera, performance gains, increased water-resistance, bigger memory options and improved brightness.. still for which iPhones are known.
So personally, I would consider buying an iPhone 7 rather than iPhone 6s.
